The Jules Verne classic which Disney originally brought to the screen in 1954 is now being quickly paced for development once again.
McG is slated to direct the film per a re-written Justin Marks script. The story will center on the origin/construction of the Nautilus. For those of you not familiar with the story, the Nautilus is the submarine commanded by Captain Nemo. The sub runs on electricity provided from sodium-mercury batteries. It also appears in Verne’s the Mysterious Island.
McG is best known for his Charlie’s Angels films and his current picture, Terminator: Salvation due for release on May 22nd. Mark’s most recent scripts include Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, and a new He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe adaptation.
