  • The Hardy Men gets a writer

    By | February 14, 2009

The Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise project The Hardy Men has brought on Ed Solomon to write the screenplay for their comedic revamp of The Hardy Boys.

For the unaware, The Hardy Boys were the stars of a series of teen detective books chronicling the fictional adventures of teenage brothers Frank and Joe Hardy. It also became a TV show starring Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy.
The focus of The Hardy Men which will be directed by Shawn Levy, is that Frank and Joe will now be estranged adults, forced back together to crack a new case. After the successful comic efforts of Stiller and Cruise in Tropic Thunder this should bring anticipation.

Ed Solomon wrote both Bill & Ted movies, and the first Men In Black. Ten years of development has seen numerous scribes come and go but Solomon seems stable now that production is going through Stiller’s Red Hour banner, and Stiller himself is anxious to get started.
