The #1 movie for this weekend ended up being Fatal Attraction….um I mean Obsessed with almost $30 million in the first 3 days of release. It moved 17 Again down off the hill to the #2 spot in it’s second week of release.

The other new releases this week included Fighting at #3, The Soloist at #4, and Earth opening at #5. Monsters Vs Aliens remained in a strong #6 spot while State Of Play dropped from its second place opening last weekend to #7 and Hannah Montana The Movie fell from third to the #8 spot this week.

Bringing in the rear are Fast and Furious at #9 and Crank: High Voltage (Crank 2) barely holding on to the 10 spot in it’s second weekend of release.

Next weekend sees the opening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in nearly 4,000 theaters, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past which looks like yet another disposable rom-com from Matthew McConaughey, and Battle For Terra which looks rather awesome but doesn’t seem to have any marketing dollars in it’s budget.

    See ya next week!
