I won’t waste too much time with jibba jabba, but this is pretty exciting to see. When it was announced that Matthew Vaughn was adapting, directing and and independently financing the work of Mark Millar and John Romita Jr’s violent tale of a young teen from New York who decides to become a costumed vigilante super hero, the buzz took off.

Check out the long awaited trailer and character posters below:

Based on the Mark Millar comic, Kick-Ass follows teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) who is inspired himself by comic books and decides to become a self made superhero named Kick-Ass. He embeds himself into the dark and violent world of criminals and heroes who are far advanced to him, which include Big Daddy/Damon Macready played by Nicolas Cage, and eleven year-old daughter, Hit Girl/Mindy Macready played by Chloe Moretz. The rest of the cast include Mark Strong as Frank D’Amico, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris D’Amico / Red Mist, Lyndsy Fonseca as Katie Deauxma, and Yancy Butler as Angie D’Amico.
