Steve Rogers' suit!

Here’s your first look at the duds that Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) will be sporting in Marvel’s upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger. This version pulls from a many of the evolutions of the beloved character from the classic OG to the Ultimate series. The biggest plus is that it totally looks like something that could have existed during the WWII era and still hold up in a modern day film. Some will complain that it doesn’t look like the standard classic suit with the winged ears…but lets be honest here, winged ears would be a bit pansy, and the below artwork looks pretty badass.
Cap fans will appreciate his mask is set up more like a helmet that also goes down around his eyes, and since much of the film will take place during the origin timeframe of World War II, it’s a much better approach over the option of tights. It’s unmistakable who it is without even having to double-take.
Joe Johnston is directing the film, which also stars Hugo Weaving (Johann Schmidt/The Red Skull), Sebastian Stan (James ‘Bucky’ Barnes) and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter).
Captain America: The First Avenger, is slated for release on July 22nd, 2011.
