Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are DEVO!
By Dave Campbell | June 16, 2010
I know this is a movie site, but anyone who really knows me is well aware of the love that I have for DEVO and the great composer that came out of the pioneering punk/synth/new wave band, Mark Mothersbaugh.
Mothersbaugh is responsible for co-creating one of the most innovative and creative bands of the last 3 decades. He’s also racked up a hefty resume of composing scores and additional music for film an TV including Pee-wee’s Playhouse, Big Love, Happy Gilmore, Lords of Dogtown, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and almost every Wes Anderson movie (check out his IMDb profile here).
Yesterday (June 15, 2010) DEVO released the long awaited album “Something For Everybody”. This is their first full length release in 20 years and it’s been on repeat on my ipod ever since. DEVO remains just as, if not more relevant today than the 30 plus years ago when they began.
