Red Carpet world premiere Austin, TX

Fifteen-sixteen years after writing a draft for the sequel to the 1987 sci-fi classic Predator, staring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert Rodriguez’s vision has come full circle. Rodriguez recalls, “20th Century Fox calls to say — Hey, we want to redo this franchise and we found your old script. This is where we should have gone with the series! We want to move forward. And that’s what we’re doing.”
PREDATORS, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
Last night Senior Contributing Writer Don Simpson and I attended the World Premiere of PREDATORS in Austin, TX at the historic Paramount Theater presented by the Austin Film Society, Troublemaker Studios & AMD.
