I have to admit, the new trailer for Jonathan Liebesman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is pretty good. Nothing like subbing out a little Hans Zimmer BWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH for some Skrillex style dubstep to get my interest from lukewarm to a simmer. I was worried that they were going to go super serious with the reboot, but the trailer promises a movie that has a good mix of humor and seriousness. And while there seem to have been a few liberties taken with character origins and character design, this trailer promises a movie that TMNT fans should be looking forward to, not running from. The action looks pretty solid, too. Could this thing actually be good? We’ll find out on August 8th.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle of Los Angeles and Wrath of the Titans), is produced by Michael Bay, and stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg (!!! but also ???), William Fitchner, and the voice stylings of Johnny Knoxville (Leonardo), Tony Shalhoub (as Splinter… WTF?), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), Alan Ritchson (Raphael), and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo).
