Even though Comic Con is just a couple days away, it seems studios are already off and running with promoting their movies. Today, we get a new TV spot and a new TMNT themed song for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, set for release on August 8, 2014.
I was (and to some degree still am) expecting the worst when I started seeing early promotional stuff for this movie. This is a Michael Bay produced movie, in case you’ve forgotten. But the more they’ve shown of this movie, the more I’ve liked. At this point, I’m genuinely excited to see this thing. This extended TV spot, gives us a decent feel for the humor and over the top action we can expect in the movie.
Next up is the release of “Shell Shocked,” the song I’m sure will play over the closing credits of the movie. The music is garbage, but the same inner 13-year-old in me that still likes Vanilla Ice’s “Ninja Rap” kind of digs it. The song is performed by Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, featuring Kill the Noise and Madsonik.
Why the hell not?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Jonathan Liebesman, produced by Michael Bay and features Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg, William Fitchner, Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, and Noel Fisher. It opens on August 8th, 2014.
